There are 2 places along CA-1 that would require excellent experience/driving-skills with a RV, (more than that… a RV towing a car): Between Leggett and Fort Bragg (starting of CA-1 for your journey), and between Stinson Beach and Marin City (ending of CA-1 before San Francisco). The Highway is very curvy, with dense trees, no shoulder, narrow, on grade, and – close to Marin City – with cyclists who you are supposed to give 3-feet clearance. They would have no shoulder to use, and when going uphill they will be slow (and often zig-zag). Busy highway, oncoming traffic a few times a minute. You don’t have 3 feet to give unless you drive on to the other side of the highway.
If you don’t think you can handle it, seek for alternate routes for those 2 legs.
